Directive 2011/65/EU RoHS II and EU Standard EN IEC 63000

RoHS stands for Restriction of Hazardous Substances and applies to electrical and electronic devices

Standard EN IEC 63000 of the CENELEC (European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization) aims to ensure the satisfaction of the basic requirements of EU Directive 2011/65/EU ("RoHS2"). Directive 2011/65/EU became European law on 21.06.2011 and superseded Directive 2002/95/EC which had applied until then.

Since 18.11.2021, the European standard DIN EN 50581:2012 has expired and has been replaced by the harmonized standard EN IEC 63000:2018. This affects all products that fall under the RoHS Directive and therefore require mandatory CE marking.

Obligations for manufacturers

  • As your search result, you will receive a PDF, certifying the product’s CE conformity – if the device is one which falls under the product categories of RoHS, it therefore conforms to RoHS II and is free of dangerous substances included in the banned substances list.
  • You will receive a RoHS conformity certificate if working with products which do not have to comply with CE (e.g. spare parts such as O-rings, plastic parts etc.). The product is then free of dangerous substances according to the banned substances list and RoHS II.

By going to the Download area of this website, and searching for "RoHS", you will find three PDF files, where you can search for the desired material number:
